Imago Lisboa Festival aims to tackle a non-existing space in the capital city
The 2nd edition of Imago Lisboa festival intends to give continuity to a regular event that enhances the different contemporaryphotographic practices, without forgetting the presentation of authors of recognized historical value, whose knowledge is essential for understanding current narratives. In this edition, for the first time in our country, the magnificent work of American photographer, Todd Hido, present at MNAC - Museu do Chiado, is shown. Distributed among several venues in the city, we will find different proposals that embody the New Visions in Contemporary Photography At the same time, we find other exhibitions, resulting from partnerships with local institutions related to photography (Arquivo Municipal de Lisboa - Fotográfico, Atelier de Lisboa and several galleries).
Parallel to the exhibitions, a set of actions are planned to encourage and engage new audiences.audiences. The set of programmed activities seeks, naturally and primarily, to target an audience more associated to the photographicmedium. However, we consider it essential to plan actions for the so-called general public, and at different age levels. Note the collaboration established with some municipal librariesthat will host sessions on the history of photography and its main movements.
